In 2010, our adventure took a delicious turn when I entered the Washington State Fair's Wilton Cake Contest on a whim. I crafted a snickerdoodle basket cake adorned with fondant leaves, a creation that still holds a special place in my heart. Winning the grand prize on my first attempt was a sweet surprise, fueling my passion for baking even further.

In 2011, an invitation to conduct baking demonstrations at the fair opened new doors. My signature talk, "The Science Behind the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie," became a hit, sparking curiosity about whether The Common Cookie was more than just a dream.
